SYNOMYNS

Reply:Synonym

this actually means a word that has the same meaning as another in the same language....so Big Mike is wrong as well as rude !!
Reply:No, bud..."synonym" is wrong. "Synonym" describes 2 different words with the same meaning, like "couch" and "sofa". One word with lots of meanings is called "polysemous": poly --%26gt; many; semous = semantic ---%26gt;meaning. Check out the website below; that's where I looked.
Reply:Homynyms.

They are draughted differently but sound the same with different meanings. The meaning varies according to the scene in which they are seen. You can tell the difference btween a draft horese and a draft beer by the smell.
