My refridgerater is set to +3deg C, but the milk goes off in only a few hours. Any ideas why, or how to fix?

I have already double checked the internal temperature of the fridge using two seperate thermometers, and the milk feels REALLY cold.

I have also emptied the fridge out and cleaned it with baking soda.

I have even started buing my milk from a different supermarket.

Keep the milk in the colder part of the fridge, Usually colder as you go up, depending on where the cooling tubes are.

If you doubt the pasteurisation of the milk. Pour it out in a vessel, bring to a boil, then let it cool and put it in the fridge. Ensure to cover it with a lid else it will absorb the smells of other foods in the fridge.

It is also possible that the milk you buy is stored above recommened temperatures or was transported in a non-refrigerated vehicle exposing it to higher temperatures then recommended.

ONE THING IS CLEAR. IF TWO THERMOMETERS ARE GIVING THE SAME READING THEN THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FRIDGE.
Reply:Your fridge should be below 5 degrees at all times.

Buy you milk and other perisables last when shopping and put into an esky with ice bricks ASAP to keep your milk cold.

Good supermarkets never return perisables back for sale if return from customers or found on shelfs as their rule is 20 minutes out of the cooler then discard.

Also check the use by date. Sometimes there are bad batches - have you contacted the milk company to find out if this is the case?
Reply:Be sure you are putting a lid on the milk after you open it.
Reply:I had this problem many years ago i discovered that if i kept the milk in the door closest to the opening it would always go off the reason being the fridge was constantly opened by the children and it would never stay cold the logic of using the thermometers sounds great ,but in practise the fridge has to stay cold long enoiugh to make them cold ,also check to see if your fridge has a cold force fan fitted maybe it has burnt out easiest way is to open the door and turn up/down thermostat to see if it comes on you will need to hold in the fridge door button
Reply:Did you check to see if it is pasturised milk or untreated milk? Could be some food item in your fridge that makes milk go of more quickly.
