the computer needs a modem in it. you plug it into a phone jack on the wall just like a phone. Then you have to have an Internet Service Provider that you call with your computer. The ISP provides a list of numbers for your computer to use. Most phone companies offer Internet Service...

I made my own homepage and have it located at

sample.html has some javascript on it that gets blocked by Internet Explorer, then I have to click at the top of the page and then allow the content. How do I configure internet explorere so this sample.html file is in my safe zone.

How can I assign my hard drive to letter c:. It is currently set to e:?
You would have to reinstall the OS and when doing so make sure to remove any additional USB flash drives or memory card readers to be removed and if there is an internal memory card reader in the system go to bios and Disable it and reinstall the Operating System, you can directly change the drive letter for the Os installed Drive but that will not let you boot to windows. Boot.ini file wont recognise your OS directory when you manually change the drive letter.

No, but it is robbing power from the starter which needs all the power it can get to turn the engine over particularly in the winter on older cars. Some new cars autoswitch power off those items till engine starts.

Reply:it has really bugged me this year that there is no repeat. the bbc has ****** up big time. so many people miss the odd show and i reckon they would get quite good viewing figures. i don't mean to rub it in but it was a really good show, maybe even the best one of the series. matt and flavia got the first perfect 40. although i think alisha deserved one for her dances. they were all outstanding tonight and really upped their games. they do show clips of the dances in the results show so you will see little bits. also try and catch it takes two week nights on bbc2 they also show clips from the saturday night show.
p.s alisha to win! although after tonights performances none of them deserve to go home, i would hate to be a judge, i don't know how they are going to choose.!!

Hi there,
The way I will do that is by introducing TextBox events.
Click on the TextBox, goto the event panel, and choose "KeyDown" and "KeyPress" event. You need to control when the user presses any key in that TextBox, and while it is presssed we need to see if we will handle it...
Now you can control the contents in that TextBox from simulating those both events... ... I don't have Visual Studio installed, so try to figure out how to complete this example. I don't know if it compiles :p

The way I will do that is by introducing TextBox events.
Click on the TextBox, goto the event panel, and choose "KeyDown" and "KeyPress" event. You need to control when the user presses any key in that TextBox, and while it is presssed we need to see if we will handle it...
Now you can control the contents in that TextBox from simulating those both events... ... I don't have Visual Studio installed, so try to figure out how to complete this example. I don't know if it compiles :p

I have a split system heat pump, it is set to a/c but has been blowing cool (but not cold) air. any ideas y?
I am not seeing anything in the instructions on what to do if there isnt any cold air, just if it isn't blowing hot air, any suggestions would be great. thanks!

How do you program an instruction set architecture in c++?
It almost sounds as if your project is going to eventually become a "virtual machine", or better yet a simulated computer.
The first step is to determine your instruction set. The computer will probably have the ability to perform simple arithmetic, such as add, subtract, multiply, divide, shift, jump to memory locations, etc. Each of these operations will use a unique sequence of 'bits' to identify the specific operation. For example, you can say that your machine only supports only sixteen instructions. Because it is sixteen, we can identify each instructions with four bits:
MOV 0000 - move data
ADD 0001 - add data
SUB 0010 - subtract data
MPY 0011 - multiply data
DIV 0100 - divide data
AND 0101 - bitwise 'and'
OR 0110 - bitwise 'or'
XOR 0111 - bitwise 'exclusive or'
NOT 1000 - invert bits
JMP 1001 - unconditional jump
CMP 1010 - compare values
JEQ 1011 - jump if equal
JL 1100 - jump if less than
JG 1101 - jump if greater than
JLE 1110 - jump if less or equal
JGE 1111 - jump if greater or equal

Once we've determine the addressing mode for each one, the next sequence of bytes after the opcode and mode would be either the immediate value, a register value or a memory address. The remainder of each instruction can be either a fixed or variable number of bytes, that is your choice.
From there, you just process a stream of bytes and you can get the extract the operation, addressing mode, data for source and destination (or just destination if its a single operand). Next, your "virtual machine" needs to simulate the operations, keep track of the values in memory and in the registers, etc.
Hopefully this is enough to get you started.

Note that each instruction and addressing mode is one byte, but only part of the complete instruction. You can use the bitwise and (%26amp;) operator in C++ in order to mask off the opcode and addressing modes from that single byte (unsigned char). So:

Once we've determine the addressing mode for each one, the next sequence of bytes after the opcode and mode would be either the immediate value, a register value or a memory address. The remainder of each instruction can be either a fixed or variable number of bytes, that is your choice.
From there, you just process a stream of bytes and you can get the extract the operation, addressing mode, data for source and destination (or just destination if its a single operand). Next, your "virtual machine" needs to simulate the operations, keep track of the values in memory and in the registers, etc.

The Logitech X240 speakers are very good if you're looking for 2.1 sound. I've bought 3 sets of these speakers and they all work great.
In the same line of products, they have the X530, a 5.1 system. I've never tried these, but they are probably the same quality as the X240s.
For under $50.00, you can't beat these speakers.

Obviously the mechanism is OUT OF Calibration. Many NON digital thermostats still function by means of a small vial filled with Mercury. If that has become dislodged; moved; broken; etc.; The thermostat has no practical means by which to function properly.
More valid might just be to purchase a new thermostat.

There could be a few things "wrong".
First of all, if you live in an extreamly humid area, expecially if you grew up without air conditioning, you'll typically have a higher tollerance for heat. Working in a 110 degree enviroment normally I'll have the air conditioner set about 85 for the first week I'm home after long underways. As the airconditioner reduces humidity, it will feel cooler than it actually is.
Second, it could be a dirty air filter. If the air filter is clogged with dust and such, you won't get design air flow for the unit, causing the TXV to overcorrect for a given temperature. Air comming out of the vents will be cooler but there won't be as much of it, causing a net reduction in cooling.
Third option is the sensors. For analog systems if there are corrosion products or damage to the bimetallic element the set temperature will indicate either higher or lower than the sensed set temperature. Normally the only way to fix the analog set switch is to replace it. Digital sensors can either become corroded, or dirty, causing an insulating effect and throwing off set temperature in relation to actual temperature.
A fouth possibility is a refrigerant leak. As R-134A systems develop leaks non condensable gasses make the compressor and expansion process much less efficent, causing the whole system to have to work harder to maintain the same temperature. If you're setting the temperature high, this is most likely not the issue.
One last possibility is location of the thermostat. If your thermostat is on an exterior wall, next to a window, or other source of heat, the thermostat element will see a higher temperature and correct to the point where it senses set temperature. One of the most common "offenders" that cause this are dimmer switches with slide resistors.
If all else fails you can always call a HVAC tech and they should be able to find a specific problem, and if anything else, ensure your air conditioning system is working properly.

It is also possible that the milk you buy is stored above recommened temperatures or was transported in a non-refrigerated vehicle exposing it to higher temperatures then recommended.
ONE THING IS CLEAR. IF TWO THERMOMETERS ARE GIVING THE SAME READING THEN THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FRIDGE.

I had xp already set up in my c drive, which was acting funny,?
and found a lot of trojans (which are deleted now) after running an avast antivirus scan. so, i had another xp installed in my f drive. so i have 2 xps in my computer, and i prefer to use the newer one in f drive. however, i'm unable to play sounds in the xp in f drive. when i go through the settings; it says it does not detect any audio hardware?!
but when i use the older xp in drive c, it has the same settings it used to have before, detecting my headphones and i can hear music and play sounds in it.
now the problem is that..i have downloaded a movie from Ares and i want to watch it.
but... if i watch using my newer Xp in drive f:, i cannot hear sounds, but only view the video.
and if i watch in my older xp in drive c:, it is showing some kind of error message in all players (some codec error), and im not able to watch the video but can hear the sound well.
i have tried, winamp, win media player version 9..etc.

Can you set up a 501 (c) 3/non profit to help special needs kids w/ med treatment?
can a 501 or not for profit be set up to fund the cost of treatments not covered by insurance?
My son is autistic and in talking with the teachers and other parents our biggest issue is insurance not covering the treatments needed to make our kids the most productive citizens possible. They get you to functional but leave you there when so much more is possible...
We thought if we did collective fundraisers that possibly we could get some things paid for that our kids do without-like adaptive equipment for writing or more therapy for increased motor skills. I realize we could get more big business type donations as a non profit.
I dont know if its possible but we would like to hire an accountant to oversee the moneys and distrubution of it. We also would like to set up an application process to have a impartial person to set up grants for projects, treatments or equipment being funded.

I have 1024MB RAM and each time I click on a certain link, it pulls up windows media player, and as soon as it opens, it tells me my computer is running low on memory. Every one is telling me to set it to max amount. I don't know how much that is. I don't even know which drive to use C: or D: I'm still learning.

If you are not using VISTA it's correct, yes. Keep page file on same hard drive but in another partition. If I am not mistaken I have on an earliear ocassion advised you on that. Any way some malicious program is running on your PC. If I have not advised you for system maintainance than do this way. Exactly the way you are advised. 1. Search for temp files( In search box type *.tmp) click search. Delete all files that appears after search.
2. Than as above type *.log %26amp; do the same.
3. Search Temp folder Delete all it's content.
4. Search Temprory Internet Files %26amp; delete it's content.
5. Run updated Antivirus %26amp; Anti spyware.
6. Run disk cleanup from system tools in accessories.
7. Than defragment your drives twice from system tools Defrag.
8. From run type msconfig %26gt; enter %26gt; click on startup un check all checked field except of antivirus %26amp; anti spyware. Choose %26amp; click services, Check beside hide all MS Services. In remaining list uncheck all except Anti virus %26amp; Anti spyware services click apply click ok you will asked to restart click restart. Dowload
WIN XP Manager or tuneup utilities install %26amp; clean. Try with win xp manager,s 1 click cleaner. You can download it from
www.softarchive.net. It requires dotnet fx so you will have to download it also. First you will have to install dotnet fx. It is free %26amp; you can get it from site of microsoft.

Go to the startup tab and disable all programs (quicktime, acrobat reader, bittorrent, etc) except your firewall and antivirus.
Hit Apply. Restart your computer and a popup window will show. Check the box which says "Don't show this message again" and press OK.
You are done! I hope that this will solve your problems concerning memory.

Now, you mentioned that everytime you click on a certain link it opens up Windows Media Player and then you get a message saying that your computer is running low on memory. Well, this means that the link you click on, is trying to open as Media file that is protected under DRM. This means that you essentially do not have the right to open it.
DRM or is Digital Rights Management (DRM) is an umbrella term referring to technologies used by publishers or copyright owners to control access to or usage of digital data or hardware, and to restrictions associated with a specific instance of a digital work or device. DRM has come to primarily mean the use of these measures to control copyrightable artistic content.
What you could do is, to try get access to such Files where and when they are available without the DRM issue.

The VM swap file should be set to use a hard disk that is not going to be filled up quickly. For instance, if you have a small C: drive and a large D: drive, set the swap file to use the D: drive.

My previous provider was AOL, but after uninstalling all the software there was still remnants of the programs still left behind. Also the spyware program that came with it still keeps showing up a spyware problem which keeps shutting down my computer.
The CD that I purchased with it does not work.
The P.C is a Windows XP Media Centre Edition.
It has a AMD Athlon 64 processor.
Any suggestions, its starting to get very, very annoying.
Can Anyone Please Help? I Want To Set My P.C Back To Its Original Settings Please Advice.?
unfortunately windows hasn't got such a feature to go back to original state for your situation (System Restore won't work for this), so you have only two choices
1. Install an advanced commercial Add/Remover and clean up those remaining files
or
2. Manually delete the remaining registry entries and files. you can use Task manger with System Information to track the files. use PID (Process Identifier to identify the files/process)
Hope you will get something from this.

What you said about your spyware program concerns me. I would uninstall it, because it sounds like the way Norton worked against me when I got my Dell Dimmension 3000 with XP. It had McAfee on it. It was awful, so I got Norton. Even worse. Now I have for free, SpyBot Search %26amp; Destroy 1.4 anti spyware. It works great, using regular updates %26amp; scans %26amp; immunizing.

Looks like ur java path and classpath is fine.
You have created a new directory called java. Its ok but before compiling simple.java make sure that simple.java is saved in that directory.
This error occurs when the java file is not in that current directory.

For the winter and summer it should be set to a certain number so that your bill is not too much. Can anybody tell me these two numbers (winter/summer).

Increase the temperature in your fridge by one or two notches.
Make sure to change the filter in your air handling system (draws the air in for heating and cooling) once a year, more if you have pets or live in a dusty area.
Decrease the temperature of your water heater by 5-10 degrees.
Summer - keep blinds closed during the day.

this will generate a main.o file. Object file.
then link the object file to create an executable like this:
C:\MinGW\bin\gcc -o main.exe main.o
and you there you have it a main.exe

Reply:Sorry to hear you are using XP. Install LINUX (SUSE UBANTU) and you will not only have some excellent secure, opensource tools, you will also have many examples of C code to examine.

This uses MingW I believe except it had an IDE front end. When I used to program in C / C++ This is what I used in windows.
