Can a 501(c)(3) organization be set up to spay or neuter animals in a shelter?

Yes, I'm involved with an organization like that. They are 501(c)(3) and they adopt out stray animals, but pay to have them spayed and neutered first.

Hope that's what you're talking about, and good luck with it!

"More organizations use us to apply for tax exempt status than anyone else. Whether you are forming a charity, foundation, church, school, or even an animal rescue, we make it simple for you to get there."

In a word, yes.
