I just wanted to know if it is possible to change the 'My document" directory of windows XP, it is by default created at C:\document and setting\admin\my document if windows is installed in C drive...
but some time, if windows crashes due to a virus of ne other reason, then v need to format the whole drive, which lead to deletion of our 'my doc' data also, so that a problem
if ne body know, plz let me know

Is it possible to change the location of "My doucument" in Widows XP. which is set to C:\... by default
lol, Just save data on another harddrive. Buy a large external harddrive and use that for whatever you might of used my documents for... so if you have to reformat... you'll still have it.
Reply:You can back everything up so when that happens, everything should be safe.
Go To:
Start
%26gt;All Programs
%26gt;%26gt;Systems Tools
%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Backup
You should be able to. I backup all my files [including documents], so I am safe whenever my comp crashes or something.
Reply:If you really want to change the default location for
'My Documents'
Click on 'My Computer'
Right Click on 'My Documents'
Click 'Properties'
Click 'Move'
select the target folder you want,
bingo !
Reply:You are not able to change the My Document directory on XP. Ive tryed and my computer teacher told me its default and nothing can be done with it
